College of Engineering and Computing About the College

Who We Are

Since the early 1980s, NSU's College of Engineering and Computing has been at the forefront in computing research and education. Computing and technology is in our DNA, literally, as NSU was a pioneer in the creation of what was then called "distance learning," which today is known as online/virtual education. We understood early on that flexibility was paramount in helping students earn their degrees – not everyone can take time out of their lives to attend class on campus.

When it comes to NSU's College of Engineering and Computing:

  • Alumni work at Fortune 500 organizations, various federal and government agencies, and universities around the globe
  • All classes are taught by experienced faculty members, all of whom hold doctoral degrees from accredited institutions across the globe (we do not use teaching assistants)
  • Our faculty members are nationally and internationally recognized scholars who work in diverse fields within the computer, engineering and information sciences field;
  • We offer degree programs that prepare you for many of the careers listed in reports by U.S. News & World Report 100 Best Jobs in 2017
  • The National Security Agency (NSA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) have recognized NSU's curricula in information security – the second school in Florida to receive such recognition
